Its Hard to Complain
Its hard to complain about an app like Hoopla. Hoopla gives you access to a wide range of movies, TV, books, comics, audiobooks and even music for the low, low price of free through your local library. And it does a good job of it.
However, as a long time Hoopla user I do have a couple complaints. Audiobooks, the media I use Hoopla for most, still have the same issues Ive contacted them about before. When listening to a book on my iPhone, I frequently lose my place as the book crashes when I get a call or some other anomaly of smartphones happens. The audiobooks are presented in one giant chunk rather than broken into chapters or sections, which makes this issue much more of a hassle than it needs to be.
With ebooks Ive checked out a book only to find it unreadable because it downloaded in some strange programming format or at other times found the book I checked out is actually a different one than is shown in the title.
All in all, Hoopla is a great app and I do recommend it to lots of people. If youve already got an account with your local library theres no reason not to give Hoopla a try!
